Connie Evingson returns to the Jungle August 22 with "Summer Samba", a preview of her upcoming CD of Brazilian samba and bossa nova music.
Joined by an all-star band including Joan Griffith (guitar), Dave Karr (saxophone), Gordon Johnson (bass), Mary Louise Knutson (piano) and Dave Schmalenberger (drums), Connie sings the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim ("Girl from Ipanema"), Luiz Bonfa ("Samba de Orfeu"), Marcos Valle ("Summer Samba") and others.
